Vadim Kuramshin convicted for libel He has been released on parole

On October Almaty District Court of Astana has sustained a motion of release on parole of the journalist Vadim Kuramshin.
Vadim Kuramshin – is free-lance correspondent of some Kazakhstan’s mass media. He was convicted for libel and sentenced to three years and ten months of imprisonment by court of Petropavlovsk (North Kazakhstan) in September 2006. The charges stemmed from article “Will remake carts for barricade?” by Kuramshin, published in the newspaper “Epokha”. He has told about household disputes between owner of farm and countrymen. As a result of it there was suit of owner of farm.
