Court has admitted claims of troop unit to newspaper “Ustinka plus” as groundless

Specialized Inter District Economical Court of East Kazakhstan region has examined a claim of Head Department “Troop unit 5518” of Internal Military Forces of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the editorial staff of the newspaper “Ustinka plus” about protection of reputation.

Editorial staff must publish refutation of material, discredited honor, dignity and business reputation of Internal Military Forces of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, troop unit 5518 and recover 500 000 tenge as moral damage from defendant.

The charges stemmed from article “Like the economical syphilis” by Olga Ushakova. There was information on problem of corruption in systems of health care system, departments of defense and other state institutions. Journalist has shown examples of the corruption, using collage of photos. There was a group of military persons. They served military obligations in troop unit 5518 of Internal Military Forces of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The staff of troop unit has thought that this photo discredited honor of military persons.

The suit of Head Department “Troop unit 5518” of Internal Military Forces of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan was dismissed in accordance with judgment.
