There was first forum “Court system and mass media” in Shymkent

There was international forum “Court system and mass media” on April 23-24, 2009 in Shymkent. It was carried out by Supreme Court of the republic of Kazakhstan, Union of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan and International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech “Adil soz”.
Judges of South Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, journalists and human rights activists have discussed issues of structural interaction of courts and mass media and problems of textual expertise in informational disputes.
It was planned conduction of forum in 2006. Now, there are two regional forums in Almaty and Astana and third one in Shymkent. Media outlets can get explanations of law, commentaries of public important legal proceedings, including of mass media.
This forum is non-judicial, non-governmental organization, made on a voluntary basis, mutual interest and commitment to improve cooperation between judicial power and mass media.
