Employees of Caraganda weekly “Vecherniya gazeta” were announced that the newspaper stopped its activity in connection with financial crisis on March 25, 2009.
Journalists have said that they did not receive any warning from their staff. It has been bolt from the blue for them. There was announcement that office will be closed and all employees will be retired.
Chief Editor of the newspaper Alexander Tumenev has said that employees turned in a resignation in connection with stoppage of newspaper activity.
There were 9 retired persons: journalists, photo correspondents and technical personnel.
Correspondent of “Adil soz” retired persons did not want to bring a case before the court against their employer.
Weekly “Vecherniya gazeta” was published in Caraganda during ten years with its circulation of 5.5 thousand copies.
