Journalist of Shymkent TV Channel “Otyrar” Aziz Myrzabayev was beaten and mugged

Journalist of Shymkent TV Channel “Otyrar” Aziz Myrzabayev has taken participation in police raid on the night of the 16th / 17th March, 2009. One of the cars without identification number was stopped and passed to penalty station. The journalist has continued his work there. Driver and passengers of stopped car asked for journalist finish shooting. They began to threat Myrzabayev. Aziz Myrzabayev has said that they fired some shots from pistol “Osa”.
Five unknown persons have attacked on Aziz Myrzabayev. After that ten people jointed to them. They have beaten operator and taken his camera. It had happened near entrance of his house, when Myrzabayev returned home after work. As a result of it Myrzabayev had injuries and blood lakes.
Journalist and Deputy for Director of LLC “Sobkor”, founder of TV Channel Vyacheslav Shvarts has thought that this attack was connected with liquidation of record, made during police raid.
Aziz Myrzabayev has made a statement to police. Criminal case was initiated in Enbekshin District Department of Internal Affairs. One of the attackers was detained by operative way.
