Court has enjoined newspaper ”Taszhargan” on payment of three millions tenge for Romin Madinov and publish refutation

There was final legal proceeding by suit of the deputy of Majilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ramin Madinov to the newspaper “Taszhargan”, its chief editor Bakhytgul Makimbay and journalist Almas Kusherbayev in Medeu District Court of Almaty on January 16, 2009.
The charges stemmed from article by Kusherbayev “Frustrate latifundist”, published in the newspaper “Taszhargan” on April 24, 2008. Ramin Madinov has asked to admit untruth information in the article “Frustrate latifundist”; make an apology before him as Deputy of Majilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and recover 300 millions tenge as damage from defendants in his suit.
The newspaper has to publish refutation; three millions tenge as damage will be recovered from defendants in joint and several order.
Editorial staff is intended to dispute decision in appeal order.
