Correspondent of the newspaper “Taszhargan” Artem Miusov was discharged from hospital after severe knife wound

Journalist of Kazakhstan’s opposition newspaper “Taszhargan” Artem Miusov (stage name Oleg Kudashev) was discharged from hospital for continuation of his treatment at home on January 09, 2009.
He was attacked by unknown man of Asian appearance and 25-30 years old. It had happened about 22.00 p.m. in the district “Aynabulak” on December 29, 2008. Artem Miusov has said that this man interested in his name, said “hi” to him and attacked him. As a result of it journalist with severe knife wounds was sent to intensive care unit of city hospital № 4.
Zhetysu DDIA has initiated a criminal case under article 257 p.3 “Hooliganism committed with fire arms, gaseous weapons, knives, brass-knuckles, or other cold steel, or other objects specially designed for the causation of damage to health” of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There is investigation of this case.
It is not clear that this attack on journalist is connected with his professional activity.
