Aqmola regional court made correction work
On March 15, Adil Soz reported that Mogulsun Satubaldinova, the judge of the Kokshetau city court, illegally demanded that Nurzhan Baimuldin, editor of the Kokshetau Asia news agency, presented accreditation before the court hearings started. Obviously, the journalist did not have such a document, since no accreditation is required to cover trials. Then the judge forbade Baimuldin to make audio and video recordings of both the process and herself, but allowed Baimuldin to sit in the courtroom and listen. At the same time, she threatened that if her photo was published somewhere, the journalist would be held liable.
The regional court's reaction was prompt. Kulyash Domalakova, the head of the press service of the Aqmola regional court, said that “the incident was considered at a briefing session, and the chairman of the regional court pointed out the weak knowledge of the law by the judge and the violation of judicial ethics when hearing a particular case. In this regard, the judge's case files will be sent for consideration to the Commission on Judicial Ethics.”
