Attacking a journalist isn't interfering with legal professional activity?
The Specialized Investigative Court of the city of Kokshetau, represented by judge A. Zhakupov, decided that the criminal investigation on interfering with legal professional activity of 716.kz reporter Oksana Matasova was dropped quite legally and justifiably. All possibilities for collecting additional evidence were allegedly exhausted.
The law enforcement, supervisory and judicial authorities considered that there was no evidence of interfering with the journalist's activities, and the court did not accept the video confirming the guilt of the man who insulted and attacked the journalist.
As it was reported on May 26, Oksana Matasova, a reporter of the Kokshetau online news portal 716.kz, was working on an article on the illegal use of child labor in the beautification of the Kylshakty river bank. A certain Ruslan Khugoyev, who was involved in organizing this work, began pushing and cursing the journalist, knocking out her camera instead of answering her questions. On the same day, the journalist complained to the police.
