"Uralskaya Nedelya" is not allowed to get to Atyrau. Raul Uporov is detained
The deputy editor of the newspaper "Uralskaya Nedelya" Raul Uporov was detained by police on the Uralsk-Atyrau highway an hour after the detention of the editor-in-chief Lukpan Akhmedyarov.
The formal grounds for the detention allegedly was an all points bulletin for a car used by journalists. According to Raul Uporov, after Lukpan Akhmedyarov was taken by police from the highway under the pretext that he did not appear for questioning, they continued on their way to Atyrau. But after a few kilometers, a police car caught up with them and demanded that they stop. The driver of the car was told that he was suspected of committing an accident that happened today in Uralsk, so his car was in all points bulletin . After that, the car was taken to the village of Chapaevo for getting the driver's explanations.
"All this is incredible stupidity, almost idiocy," Raul Uporov says indignantly. "And it's not only that Lukpan was detained, and now we are detained. The thing is that to do that the police did not hesitate to hold dozens of cars that were heading towards Atyrau, on the highway for several hours. There were cars, fuel trucks. They all stood and waited. To be honest, until recently I did not believe that this was possible. I do not believe that even when they brought summons to Lukpan right to the highway. But right after that they let the cars go.
Well, now we will not be allowed to go there, we will miss the release of Max Bokaev. Well, then we'll go and do more interviews with him in a week! What was the sense of all those moves?!
According to Uporov, now he and the driver are standing near the building of the Chapaevo district police department. The driver entered the building, where the police is waiting for a criminologist, who, according to the police is to come from the neighboring district.
