Extortion as a New Method for Investigating Slander

The case of Zhanar Asylkhanova, inbusiness.kz reporter for the East Kazakhstan region,  accused of slander is investigated by under administrative proceedings canons.

On October 7 at 9 pm, when most of  good people are getting ready for bed, a district policeman came to Zhanar's home. He served a summons to the journalist saying that she should appear at the police station the next morning at 10AM. In case she wouldn't  come, she would be reconducted forcefully, says the summons. The policeman did not explain  where the accused person could find  a lawyer in the middle of the night or early in the morning.

We wonder in what way such methods correspond to  the right to protection guaranteed by the Constitution and other laws?
