Journalist Sergey Petrenko passed away in Rudny

According to the press service of the Police department of the Kostanai region, the journalist’s mother applied to the police, worried that she could not get in touch with her son. His colleagues came to his home and found out that the door of the apartment was locked from the inside. They broke the lock and found  the body of 42-year-old Sergey Petrenko in the kitchen.

“At the moment, the case is registered in the National Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, but the qualifying event will be determined after a forensic examination. So far, we can say with reasonable confidence that no visible signs of violent death have been found, ” - Elena Kasharina, spokeswoman for the regional police department commented.

Sergei Petrenko’s colleagues suppose that a heart attack could be the cause of death. Sergey's first article was published in 1997 in the newspaper Magnetit. Then his articles were published in city and regional newspapers, in the magazines Zolotoy Vek (Kostanay), Niva (Astana), Uralskaya Nov (Chelyabinsk), he was a reporter for one of the oldest city newspapers - Rudnensky Rabochy. Recently, he worked at the editorial office of Good Business.
