On October 2, 2018, the Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court of Almaty made a ruling  to hold LLP «RG Brands» administrative liable for failure to provide information at the request of an individual.

The court imposed an administratve fine to the company in the amount of 72 150 tenge

A kazakhstani citizen asked the company to provide information on corrections of the information system, that provides incorrect information about the cost of short text messages. The company ignored the appeal. The man appealed to the prosecutor of Almaly district of Almaty, who initiated administrative proceedings under art. 189 part. 1  of the Code of Administrative Infractions of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Violation of the procedure and terms for considering references of individuals and legal entities).

It was a good judicial precedent,  showing clearly that court can redress an injustice when the right to receive information is violated.
