On September 8, the world celebrates the International Solidarity Day of Journalists for the 60th time. On this day, 75 years ago, Julius Fucik, a Czech journalist, author of  the immortal Notes from the Gallows was put to death.

This year Adil Soz together with the Guild of Court Reporters decided  to move beyond congratulations, but to show solidarity in practice. We are starting a campaign to protect journalists' right to access information "Information now!".

Despite all the laws, officials often conceal information that do not honor them or their organization. They hide information behind false secrecy, do not respond to inquiries or respond when the information is not of interest any longer, provide incomplete or blatant formalistic answers. How long can we stand it? Information is needed not to journalists or the media, but to the society that we all serve. But there is often no time to stand for the violated right, it requires both strength and knowledge.

 "Adil Soz" has opened a special section "Information now!" on its website and posted a short explanation what to do in order to exercise the right to receive information and to stand for it http: //www.adilsoz.kz/p/zakon . The lawyers of Adil Soz are ready to give advice on this issue, help in drafting documents and defend your rights in court. It is necessary to perform all preliminary actions properly and to give a power of attorney for appearing in court.
