The suit of the academician against newspaper "DAT" was dismissed upon the initiative of the plaintiff
On August 20, in Almaty Zhetysu District Court of Almaty finished the action proceedings on the claim of the director of the Kazakh Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology Dilyara Kaydarova against the owner and employees of the newspaper "Public position" (the "DAT" project) and the employee of the Oncology and Radiology Research Institute Schnargul Talaeva.
At today's hearing the plaintiff's lawyer filed a petition to withdraw the lawsuit and to dismiss it. The court granted this motion by issuing a relevant ruling.
As it was reported earlier, the reason for the lawsuit was the article "Сancerous persecution of a doctor" ("Public position", 26.10.2017).
"The phrase" cancerous persecution " supposes that I violated not just laws, but also ethical norms as well while performing my duties," the lawsuit said.As the Academician Dilyara Kaydarova believed, the author of the article and the editorial board accused her of committing a corruption-related offense, in particular, in the persecution of an employee of the institute Shnargul Talaeva and organizing intelligence activities against her.
The plaintiff demanded a refutation, a public apology and 10 million tenge as compensation for moral harm.
