Kazakhstan’s ranking fell by one place comparing with the previous year and now the country occupies 158-th place out of 180 with a score of 54.41. Points gained reflect the legislative regulation of freedom of speech, the efforts of local authorities to ensure the guarantees of freedom of expression, the level of legal and practical restrictions on the activities of journalists.
