Journalists and observers are non grata at the court hearings on Mamay’s case

Pre-trial hearing on the case of the chief editor of the newspaper “Sayasi Kalam. Tribuna” Zhanbolat Mamay was to begin at 11 AM on August 14 in Medeu district court No.2 in Almaty. Supporters of the arrested editor, journalists, observers from human rights organizations and consulates of foreign countries have gathered at the entrance to the courtroom. However, they are denied to access the courtroom withoiut any explanations.
