Atyrau City Court N 2 considers a criminal case on defamation charges. Suleimen Aubekerov, senior specialist of the Public Health Department of the Atyrau Oblast Healthcare Committee, accuses Gulzada Ismurziyeva, civil activist, of defamation. Aubekerov accuses Ismurziyeva of spreading false information related to the assumption of corruption (taking a bribe ) which is considered a serious crime.

The case is stemmed from diagnosis and treatment, which Ismurzieva received at the clinic "Dostarmed-Atyrau". Ismurzieva, in April 2017, sent a complaint about diagnosis and treatment to Kuttykov R., Prosecutor of Atyrau City. Prosecutor forwarded this complaint to the Public Health Department that was established a special Commission consisted of Aubekerov S., Senior specialist, and Kayralieva G., Specialist. The members of the Commision came to the conclusion that the claim made by Ismurziyeva is ungrounded. Ismurziyeva who disagrees with this conclusion sent appeal to Togyzbayev G., Regional Prosecutor, asking for assistance in appointing of another independent investigator.  Ismurziyeva also writes that she “suspects a possible bribery”. This assumption caused a counter accusation of Ismurziyeva of defamation.

It should be noted that two days later, following the complaint filed by the private prosecutor, Ismurzieva received an official letter signed by Edilbayev  E., Assistant to the Regional Prosecutor, who informed that accusation on medical error, which plaintiff brought up, has its ground and it was verified after second examination. The Chief of the Clinic was reprimanded and the doctor was brought to administrative responsibility.

The next court session will be held on July 13.
