The spokesperson who threatened Lukpan Akhmedyarov was fired

The spokesperson of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Western Kazakhstan region Akbolat Kateshov, who threatened journalist Lukpan Akhmedyarov in his personal correspondence in the WhatsApp messenger, was fired.

- We received an official letter from the Department of Internal Affairs of the Western Kazakhstan region, signed by the deputy head of the Department, Baghdar Abuov, to the working mail of the editorial office, - L. Ahmedyarov said. - The letter says that, an official investigation was conducted on my appeal against Akbulat Kateshov. A. Kateshov explained to the employees of the Internal investigation department  what he meant by the  phrase "Dear, it seems you forgot at whose sill you are sitting in Selektsionniy. Should I remind you again?”/ According to A.Kateshov he meant the police carried out lawful acts to ensure L.Akhmedyarov’s safety and detention of criminals while investigating  the murder attempt against the journalist on the night of 20.04.2012 in Selektsionniy village.

Nevertheless, according to the letter, the administration of the Department of Internal Affairs took the journalist’s appeal into consideration. It was decided to terminate the labor contract with Akbolat Kateshov.
