Lawsuit against newspaper "Pravda Kazakhstana" was launched in Administrative Court of Almaty

There was a first lawsuit against editorial staff of the newspaper "Pravda Kazakhstana" and editor-in-chief Sharip Kurakbayev in Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court of Almaty. They were charged with trespass under article 350 p.2 "Violation of order of pronouncement of data out" of Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to protocol of administrative offence which was drawn up by Department of Internal Policy (Almaty), the mention of time-worn of certificate of registration was made, dated 08 February, 2007, while in 2007 newspaper "Pravda Kazakhstana" was re-registered. It is worthy of note that Department of Internal Policy (Almaty) has received a new copy of certificate of registration of media (in particularly, it was dated on 25 August, 2007) in August of 2013.

During lawsuit it has emerged that, in 2007 the edition really was re-registered. It was connected with relief of editor-in-chief, according to legislation. Within a short period of time, norm which bound over media to undergo re-registration in the relief of head. The norm is as dead as mutton. None has remembered about new certificate within six years.

Sharip Kurakbayev explained, that he helmed newspaper "Pravda Kazakhstana" within a year and a half ago. There was a certificate of registration in documents, according to it newspaper was published. In Kurakbayev's opinion it was not violation on the part of newspaper, because during procedure of re-registration in Information and Record-Keeping Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan time-worn certificate of registration should be taken. It was not done, editorial staff could not be responsible for activity or inactivity of the state body. At present time, newspaper "Pravda Kazakhstana" made an application to Information and Record-Keeping Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to receive new certificate of registration. They should receive it within six days. The editor-in-chief of newspaper "Pravda Kazakhstana" has presented a petition to prorogue trial. The judge Pakirdinov has satisfied a petition.

The next trial will be held on September 26, 2013 at 15.00 p.m.
