Police officers informed about detention of persons They were suspected in kidnapping of journalist Gennadiy Pavluk

Press Secretary of Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanyshbek Zhumanov has made a statement at briefing in Astana on October 06, 2010. He said that criminal police officers detained two persons in one of restaurants of Almaty. They were suspected in kidnapping of famous journalist Gennadiy Pavluk from Kyrgyzstan.

On December 16, 2009 Pavluk was found and laid unconscious on abat-jour of entrance of a house on Furmanov Street of Almaty. His hands and legs were bound by tape. Police officers thought that Genaddiy Pavluk was thrown from window of rented flat on sixth floor.

Gennady Pavluk has been in comatose. He had numerous fractured ribs and craniocerebral trauma with hematoma. As a result of it he was sent to one of the clinical hospitals.Famous in Kyrgyzstan journalist Gennady Pavluk, better known by his pen name Ibraghim Rustambek died at 06.00 a.m. on December 22, 2009. He did not come to his senses, because of numerous traumas.

Offices of Intenal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic have conducted investigation of this murder.

Before briefing, on October 06, 2010 representative officers of security officies of both countries did not inform about investigative process.

Colleagues of Gennady Pavluk thought that it was special organized terrorist act of threat, political affairs, related to professional activity of the journalist. They expressed their opinion, concerning participation of Kyrgyz special services in murder of journalist.
