Journalists of newspaper “Vzglyad” were detained after action in Almaty

Reporter of the newspaper “Vzglyad” Igor Zenin and photo journalist Michael Korchevskiy came to square of Almaty. They covered action of protest against adoption of law “On Leader of Nation”. This action was conducted by journalists Sergei Duvanov and Andrei Sviridov.

Organizers of action showed their placards and explained to media outlets their position, concerning this aspect; left for this place. Police officers detained journalists of the newspaper “Vzglyad” , by the way to editorial office. They took their service certificates and placard “Law on Leader of Nation- Disgrace to Nation”. Other media representatives tried to help him and explained to policeman, that reporter did not participate in action of Duvanov. A policeman gave service certificate, but took a placard.

But, journalists were detained and sent to Department of Internal Affairs. Detention record was not done by police officers. They asked them to show their certificates of identity and service certificates.

Photos were taken from Michael Korchevskiy as a help for law-enforcement organs in Department of Internal Affairs. They asked to sign withdrawal record.

Journalists were charged with carriage of placard.
