Newspaper “Uralskaya Nedelya” will be published in Uralsk once again

In April 2010, printing house “Polygraphservice” terminated a contract with editorial staff of the newspaper “Uralskaya Nedelya” (West Kazakhstan) for rendering of printing services unilaterally. There was an unofficial version that such decision was taken, because state authority put a pressure upon staff of printing house “Polygraphservice”.

On May 11, 2010 Chief Editor of the newspaper “Uralskaya Nedelya” Tamara Eslyamova has contacted with Press Service of Akim (Governor) of West Kazakhstan oblast. She said about her intention to tell about situation around newspaper at conference of the OSCE in Dushanbe on May 25, 2010. Akim (Governor) of West Kazakhstan Oblast Baktykozha Izmukhambetov. He has said that Akimat (Administration) of West Kazakhstan Oblast did not put a pressure upon staff of printing house “Polygraphservice”; promised to solve a problem and take every measures for printing of the newspaper “Uralskaya Nedelya” in Uralsk.

On May 12, 2010 Director of Printing House “Polygraphservice” S. Ilyin has said to Tamara Eslyamova about his intention to continue printing of the newspaper “Uralskaya Nedelya”. He has also said about his meeting with Head of Department of Internal Policy West Kazakhstan Oblast Malik Imashev. Imashev said that state authority did not put a pressure upon staff of printing house “Polygraphservice”.
