Ninth Eurasian Media Forum was opened on April 27, 2010 in Almaty. There were a small number of Kazakhstan’s media outlets and non-governmental organizations. Kazakhstan’s participants of Ninth Eurasian Media Forum should pay KZT85000 (more EUR 400) for participation in Ninth Eurasian Media Forum.
Representatives of “Adil Soz” will inform about events of Ninth Eurasian Media Forum with reference to other information resources. There was a press release of newspapers “Golos Respubliki” and “Vzglyad”.
Journalists of newspapers “Golos Respubliki” and “Vzglyad” carried out a flash-mob “Take off pink glasses” within the framework of Ninth Eurasian Media Forum. They brought glasses and information posters; wanted to inform participants of Ninth Eurasian Media Forum about real situation with freedom of speech in Kazakhstan.
It was done after session “Chairmanship in OSCE: consequence, contemplation and facilities”. Security officers of Ninth Eurasian Media Forum and hotel “Ankara” intervened to the conduction of flash-mob “Take off pink glasses”.
They tried to take glasses and information posters by force. Journalist Eugeniya Plakhina was tousled to lift by security officer from Ninth Eurasian Media Forum. But, it was impossible, because participants of media forum prevented to it.
Editorial staffs of newspapers “Golos Respubliki” and “Vzglyad” were unsatisfied by actions of organizers of Ninth Eurasian Media Forum.
There was also information that forum-partner of the newspaper “Golos Respubliki” http://comment-resp.com was subjected by DOS-attacks and had been inaccessible unless journalists tried to inform participants of Ninth Eurasian Media Forum about real situation with freedom of speech in Kazakhstan.
