International foundation for protection of freedom of speech «Adil\r\nSoz» has conducted a survey, concerning in the sphere of violation of right\r\nto freedom of expression, receiving and dissemination of information in December, 2014.
\r\nThere was following information:
-On December 24, 2014court has satisfied suit\r\nof Department of Internal Policy of Almaty on closure of magazine “ADAM bol”.\r\nIt was done in absence of defendant.
-The civil society has defended magazine “ADAM\r\nbol” .
-The public defender\r\nMusagaliDuambekov should recover KZT400000 as moral damage compensation in\r\nfavour of businessmen of Mukashevs. Musagali Duambekov was charged with slander\r\nunder article 129 of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
-Cassational instance has upheld appellate\r\nresolution. The editor of magazine “Anyz Adam” Zharylkap Kalybai should\r\nrecover KZT one million and three hundred and thousand to veterans of the Great\r\nPatriotic War.
-The court decision came\r\ninto effect. It was connected with recovery of KZT34000000 to students and\r\nteachers of musical conservatory of Kurmangazy. The Appellate instance has\r\ndismissed complaint of advertising agency.
In December, seven suits on protection of honour, dignity and\r\nbusiness reputation were filed against media outlets and citizens in the amount of KZT four millions and one hundred thousand.
\r\nSix judicial acts, concerning prior cases were performed, including two – hearing in appellate instance; one hearing in cassation\r\ninstance four of them were performed in favour of journalists, media outlets and\r\ncitizens.
\r\n-15 charges with slander; 97 pre-trial claims and suits on protection of honour, dignity and\r\nbusiness reputation in the amount of KZT 738 millions and 500 thousand were brought against media outlets and citizens in\r\nconnection with exercise of right to freedom of expression, receiving and\r\ndissemination of information, in general and since the beginning of the year.
