International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech «Adil Soz» has conducted analysis of\r\nviolations of right to freedom of expression, receiving and dissemination of\r\ninformation in March, 2017 in Kazakhstan.
\r\nThere was following information:
\r\n-The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbaev has signed law\r\n«On Amendments and Supplements into\r\nConstitutionof the Republic of Kazakhstan». Now, Kazakh people can be deprived of citizenship for\r\nwrong against the vital interests of Kazakhstan.
\r\n-The court has suspended legal proceeding on a charge of slander and\r\nillegal collection of information on privacy with regard to Nick Kravts.
\r\n-The court has extended arrest of editor-in-chief of newspaper «Sayasi Kalam. Tribuna» Zhanbolat Mamay till\r\nMay 10, 2017.
\r\nIn March, 2017 two judicial\r\nacts towards cases over protection of honour, dignity and business reputation\r\nwere passed (including three ones in the appellate instance). And two ones were\r\npassed in favour of media outlets, journalists and citizens. There were demands\r\nof compensation of moral damage in the amount of KZT145 millions and 560\r\nthousands.
\r\nSince the beginning of the year\r\nin connection with execution of right to freedom of expression, receiving and\r\ndissemination of information, they were brought:
\r\n-1 charge with slander.
\r\n-1 charge with disclosure of\r\ninformation of pre-trial proceeding.
\r\n-1 charge with incitement of\r\nsocial enmity.
\r\n-12 pre-trial claims and suits\r\non protection of honour, dignity and business reputation. The requested amount\r\nof compensation of moral damage KZT80 millions and 500 thousands.
