International Foundation for Protection of\r\nFreedom of Speech \"Adil Soz\"\r\nhas conducted a survey of violations of right to freedom of expression,\r\nreceiving and dissemination of information in December, 2015 in Kazakhstan.
\r\nThere was following information:
\r\nThe Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan has\r\nsigned Decree № 128-p«On Approval of Action\r\nPlan Towards Modernization of Activity of National Media Outlets for 2015-2020».
\r\nThe sentence was passed to O. Myrzakhan, who\r\nattacked journalist B. Zhumanova.
\r\nThe journalist of website«Radiotochka»Sergei Kim was found not guilty of slander.
\r\nThere was a launching of court hearings in\r\nAktobe. 23 lecturers of Institution of Economic and Law were charged with\r\nslander.
\r\nTaraz entrepreneur Ermek Thaichibekov was\r\nsentenced to four years of deprivation of liberty for posts in social networks,\r\nwhere he expressed his own opinion, concerning extension of political relations between Kazakhstan\r\nand Russia.
\r\nThe appellate instance has changed sentence to\r\nthe Leader of Public Association of Presbyterian Trend Ykylas Kabduakasov, he\r\nwas sentenced to two years of restriction of liberty in the colony of general\r\nregime.The JSC
\r\nThe JSC«KAZKOMMERTSBANK»charged journalists of\r\nwebsite Nakanune.kzwith dissemination of misleading information. Within scope of pre-trial\r\ninvestigation, owner of domain name Guzyal Baidalinova was taken into custody.The editorial staff and flats of journalists was searched.
\r\nIn December, two judicial acts of cases over suits on protection of\r\nhonour, dignity and business reputation were passed (including one in appellate\r\ninstance); two of them in favour of journalists and citizens.
\r\nSince the beginning of the year in connection with execution of right to\r\nfreedom of expression, receiving and dissemination of information, they were\r\nbrought:
\r\n-37 charges with slander;
\r\n-10 charges with incitement of national enmity (article 174 of Criminal\r\nCode of the Republic of Kazakhstan);
\r\n-1 charge with propaganda of terrorism (article 256 of Criminal Code of\r\nthe Republic of Kazakhstan).
\r\n-1 charge with separatism (article 180 of Criminal Code of the Republic\r\nof Kazakhstan)
\r\n-14 charges of\r\ndissemination of misleading information (article 274 of Criminal Code of the\r\nRepublic of Kazakhstan)

-91 pre-trial claims and suits on protection of honour, dignity and\r\nbusiness reputation.
\r\nFrom January, courts considered 42 cases over suits on protection of\r\nhonour, dignity and business reputation in the total amount of KZT880 millions\r\n400 thousands and 01.
