Journalist and deputy reconciled

On November 10, the specialized administrative court of Ust-Kamenogorsk closed the proceedings on  libel charges against inbusiness.kz reporter Zhanar Asylkhanova due to the mediation agreement between the journalist and the claimant - a deputy of the local maslikhat (local authority)  Yulia Mironova.

In accordance with the terms of the agreement, the parties do not thave the right to disclose the details. Though it was known that the conflict was caused by the article telling about public procurement by the Ust-Kamenogorsk housing and communal services department. Journalist Zhanar Asylkhanova did not plead guilty to libel at the court hearings.

Another court proceeding related to the same libel charges goes on. But this one was initiated by the journalist who sues the district police inspector Ersan Nurkanov. She complains that the policeman grossly violated her rights while drawing up an administrative violation protocol.
