The secret of the blocked website of Nasha Gazeta has not been demystified

On November 16, 2018, Adil Soz sent an appeal about the illegal blocking of the Nasha Gazeta website www.ng.kz to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the National Security Committee and the Ministry of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As it was reported on November 15, the internetportal www.ng.kz suddenly became unavailable.

The answer we received in the new year and it was very detailed. Copies of responses from Transtelecom JSC, ASTEL JSC, Kaz TransCom JSC and the State Technical Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan were attached to the letter signed by the Vice-Minister of Information and Communications N. Mauberlinova. Alas, they all report the same thing: they are not involved in blocking.

Fortunately, the editors of Nasha Gazeta did not wait for the results of the official investigation,  changed the security protocol and reestablished communication with users of their content just a week after the site was blocked.
