Journalists from Temirtau Elena Kulakova and Lidiya Frolova were charged with libel

Deputy for Head of Temirtau HO "Department of Municipal Housing Economy, Passenger Transport and Automobile Roads" Nizami Gadzhiev has addressed to city court of Temirtau (Karaganda oblast). There was an appeal to freelance correspondent of the newspaper "Temirtauskiy Rabochiy" Elena Kulakova, journalist of the edition "Vecherniya Gazeta" (Temirtau) Lidiya Frolova and head of akim's (governor) administration of Temirtau Serikzhan Kushumbayev.
Nizami Gadzhiev has asked to institute journalists to criminal responsibility for publication of materials about anti-corruption forum, where they used the information, mentioned by S. Kushumbayev. He has given examples of corruption violations and crimes of local officials.
But, there were no any names, surnames and years of activity of corrupted state officials.
Nizami Gadzhiev has charged journalists and head of akim's (governor) administration of Temirtau Serikzhan Kushumbayev with libel. He has demanded to publish flat denial as recovery of moral damage.
Gadzhiev has said that he could refuse from claims to journalists, if head of akim's (governor) administration of Temirtau Serikzhan Kushumbayev would admit publicly that he provided untruth information. But, Serikzhan Kushumbayev did not want to do it.
Elena Kulakova did not agree with this charge. She thought that Serikzhan Kushumbayev should be responsible for his actions, related to distribution of information at public arrangement. Kulakova intended to protect her rights.
