9 november 2010
As Press Agency "REGNUM Novosti" informed that owners of popular blog platform "LiveJournal" blocked the blog of disgraced son-in-law of Nursultan Nazarbayev, Former Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Vienna Rakhat Aliev. There was information on blocking of livejournal, posts have been unaccessible for the reading. They could not explain reasons of account blocking, except for its owner. Some observers that this blocking was connected with publication of critical materials, discredited the state authority of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This version was acknowledged by well-known blogger Anton Nosik. Nosik has said that he had a letter on official form of general prosecutor's office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, addressed to company "SUP" (Russia) and explained that state power of the Republic of Kazakhstan should block the access to "LiveJournal", in connection with occurence of journal of R. Aliev. This information was placed on email http://rakhataliev.livejournal.com with the account of R. Aliev.

Kazakhstan's people had a problem with access to blog-platform "LiveJournal" from October 07, 2008. In December, 2008 Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov in his interview for radio station "Echo Moskvy" promised to solve a problem, related to the blocking of this resource.

On May 26, 2009 Executive Secretary of Agency of Information and Communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan Batyr Makhanbetazhiev in his interview for the newspaper "Express K" has said that the access to network journal was blocked by carrier, according to court decision (to stop the distribution of illegal information on the website www.geo.kz). The website www.geo.kz had mirror domain name on www.LiveJournal.com. Administration of "LiveJournal" ignored decision of Kazakhstan's court, access to this resourse has been blocked on October, 2007 ( the year before blocking of "LiveJournal"). KazNIC (Kazakh Center of Network Information) did not maintain domain www.geo.kz and some other domain names KZ. It was connected with violation of distribution rules of domain sphere of kazakhstan's Internet-segment.

The blocking of resources was made by political reasons.
