International foundation for protection of\r\nfreedom of speech«Adil\r\nSoz» has conducted survey, concerningin the sphere of\r\nviolation of a right to freedom of expression, receiving and dissemination of\r\ninformation in August, 2014.
\r\nThe survey had following information:
-Two company employees \"Galaxy\r\ngroup\", who attacked video camera man of news agency \"Tengrinews\"\r\nYuri Syedin, they were charged with hooliganism supposedly.
-The Supreme Court of the Republic of\r\nKazakhstan has dismissed commencement of supervising proceeding, concerning\r\nclosure of newspaper
\"Pravdivaya Gazeta\".
-In Taraz, policemen detained correspondent of\r\nthe independent international organization IWPR (Institute for War& Peace\r\nReporting) Gaziza Baytuova for violence in public place.
-Deputy of Maslikhat (Local Representative\r\nBody) of West Kazakhstan Oblast has filed a suit in the amount of KZT5000000\r\n(1USD=189.91) against journalist Talgat Umarov and lawyer Abzal Kuspanov.
-Cassation division of court of Astana has\r\ndismissed judicial acts which were performed by courts of the first and second\r\ninstances at the suit which was filed by lawyer Ayzhamal Babisheva against\r\nnewspaper
\"Megapolis\".
In August, three suits on protection of honour, dignity and business\r\nreputation in the amount KZT eight million and three hundred and thousand were\r\nfiled against media outlets and citizens.
\r\nTwo judicial acts, concerning prior cases were performed, including\r\none – hearing in cassational instance; two of them were performed in favour of\r\njournalists and citizens.
\r\n-14 charges with slander;\r\n63 pre-trial claims and suits on protection of honour, dignity and business\r\nreputation in the amount of KZT 219 millions and 100 thousand were brought\r\nagainst media outlets and citizens in connection with exercise of right to\r\nfreedom of expression, receiving and dissemination of information, in general and\r\nsince the beginning of the year.
