International\r\nFoundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech «Adil\r\nSoz»\r\nhas conducted a survey of violations of right to freedom of\r\nexpression, receiving and dissemination of information in April, 2016\r\nin Kazakhstan.
\r\nThere\r\nwas following information:
\r\nThe\r\nChairman of Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Seitkazy Matayev and\r\nGeneral Director of News Agency “KazTAG”\r\nAset\r\nMatayev were continued under house arrest. Their lawyers believed,\r\nthat there was a pressure upon S. Matayev on the side of\r\ninvestigative agency.
\r\nThe\r\ncourt has satisfied a suit of State Department of Architectural and\r\nConstruction Control of Almaty on demolition of two floors in the\r\nbuilding of National Press Club.
\r\nThere\r\nwere court hearings in Pavlodar. The journalist Alexander Baranov was\r\ncharged with dissemination of misleading information.
\r\nJournalists\r\nfailed to use their dictaphones, smartphones, Iphones and tables in\r\nthe state institutions. It was an illegal way.
\r\nCorrespondents\r\nof newspapers “Vecherniya\r\nKaraganda” and\r\n“Liter”\r\nwere\r\nacquitted. Earlier, they were charged with slander.
\r\nIn\r\nApril, four judicial acts of cases over suits on protection of\r\nhonour, dignity and business reputation were passed (including two in\r\nappellate instance); three of them in favour of journalists and\r\ncitizens.
\r\nSince\r\nthe beginning of the year in connection with execution of right to\r\nfreedom of expression, receiving and dissemination of information,\r\nthey were brought:
\r\n-39\r\ncharges with slander (23 – passing data, Amangeldy Botabekov; 22\r\nlectures of Institute of Economy and Law)
\r\n-5\r\ncharges with incitement of social, religious and national enmity\r\n(article 174 of Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan); 3 of\r\nthem are passing data S. Mambetalin, E. Narymbaev and E. Thaichibekov
\r\n-\r\n1 charge with propaganda of terrorism (passing data, B. Satkangulov);
\r\n-4\r\ncharges with dissemination of misleading information (article 274 of\r\nCriminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan). 1 of them JSC\r\n“KAZKOMMERTSBANK”\r\nagainst journalists of Internet-portal NAKANUNE.kz;
\r\n-1\r\ncharge with evasion of the payment of taxes;
\r\n-1\r\ncharge with embezzlement of entrusted of the other property;
\r\n-1\r\ncharge with extortion (passing data, Y. Golyshkin);
\r\n-33 pre-trial claims and suits on protection of honour, dignity and\r\nbusiness reputation.
\r\nFrom\r\nJanuary-April, courts considered 26 cases over suits on protection of\r\nhonour, dignity and business reputation in the total amount of KZT620\r\nmillions 460 thousands and 01.
