International Foundation\r\nfor Protection of Freedom of Speech \"Adil\r\nSoz\" has conducted a survey of violations of right to freedom of\r\nexpression, receiving and dissemination of information in July, 2015 in\r\nKazakhstan.

There was following\r\ninformation:
\r\nPetropavlovsk City Court\r\nhas sentenced a 22-years-old resident of Petropavlovsk Alkhanashvili to three\r\nyears of imprisonment; he published and disseminated materials which incited\r\nnational enmity, hatred and violated national feelings of representatives of\r\nthe other ethnic groups in various social networks.
\r\nUralsk City Court has\r\nfound guilty resident of Uralsk M. Suleymenov in commission of crime under\r\narticle 174 p. 1 “Incitement of national, tribal, racial or religious enmity”\r\nof Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan with usage of media or\r\ninformation and communication networks and sentenced to three years of\r\ndeprivation of liberty with probation supervision for the whole period.
\r\nThe court has extended\r\narrest of journalist Y. Golyshkin before the 14th August, 2015.

\r\nThe Prosecutor of\r\nShardarinsk District (South Kazakhstan Oblast) Talgat Seidualiev has charged\r\nwith slander journalist Ramziya Yunusova.
\r\nPolice wanted a spreader\r\nof video with pictures of natural calamity which took a place in other country\r\nand it was misrepresented as video of mudflow which took a place in\r\nAlmaty.
\r\nBoard of Appeals has\r\nacquitted journalist Nargiz Severnaya.
\r\nIn July, six judicial\r\nacts of earlier considered cases over suits on protection of honor, dignity and\r\nbusiness reputation were passed. They also, included two in appellate instance\r\nand one in cassation instance; five of them in favor of journalists and\r\ncitizens.
\r\nSince the beginning of\r\nthe year in connection with execution of right to freedom of expression,\r\nreceiving and dissemination of information, they were brought:
\r\n- 11 charges with slander\r\n(incl. passing data – 2);
\r\n- 6 charges with\r\nincitement of national enmity (article 174 of Criminal Code of the Republic of\r\nKazakhstan);
\r\n- 5 charges with\r\ndissemination of misleading information (article 274 of Criminal Code of the\r\nRepublic of Kazakhstan).
\r\n- 61 pre-trial claims and\r\nsuits on protection of honor, dignity and business reputation.
\r\nFrom January, courts\r\nconsidered 29 cases over suits on protection of honor, dignity and business\r\nreputation in the total amount of KZT388millions and 400 thousands.
